Lights switch-on a success - Nov 18

Last Saturday (15 November) saw the largest crowd attendance Halesowen has seen for its annual Christmas lights switch-on.

Australian actor, Daniel O’Connor – who plays Ned Parker in Neighbours – pushed the button just after 5pm to herald the start of Christmas festivities.

It was a day packed with excitement to keep the whole family entertained – with a live radio road show from BRMB, fairground rides and fireworks display.

Cornbow shopping centre manager – and Chamber of Trade Vice-Chair – Eve O’Connor, said:

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s event.  It just seems to be getting bigger and better every year.

“With ASDA opening on Monday 24 November, the switch-on marked a fantastic start to a whole season of activities to coincide with the Christmas period.  Keep an eye on the blue notice boards in the Hagley Mall to find out what else is happening.”
