11 days to go! - Nov 13

There are just 11 days to go until the £30m transformation of Halesowen town centre is complete and the doors to the brand new Asda superstore are open.

The grand opening of the new 24 hour store will take place on Monday 24 November and celebrations will run from 10.00am throughout the day.  There will be a party atmosphere, the appearance of a very special local hero, as well as free entertainment and product sampling to look forward to.

Adrian Oliver, director of Vale Retail which owns the Cornbow, says:  “After 18 months of hard work, the town has got its supermarket back and we have a fantastic new car park with greatly improved security and a state of the art bus station.

"A personal word of thanks to Bowmer & Kirkland for their amazing control of the construction programme against all the odds - adverse weather, difficult environment and lots of changes of specification – and they've managed to deliver it two weeks ahead of the schedule we agreed two years ago.

“Our thanks go out to all of you in Halesowen who have stayed with us throughout the development works.  We hope you enjoy what we're sure you'll agree is the best Christmas present for the town.”

Asda’s 24 hour opening policy brings Halesowen town centre into the 21st century.  Shoppers can also take advantage of the extended trading hours offered by many of the retailers in the Cornbow who will now be opening on Sundays from 11.00am to 5.00pm.
