Fashion show success at the Cornbow - Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Saturday 17 May saw Portsmouth beat Cardiff in the FA Cup final at Wembley but in Halesowen it was a different kind of event on offer.

Cornbow shoppers were treated to two free fashion shows organised and supported by retailers in the centre. With beachwear, sportswear and party frocks, there was something for everyone – even fancy dress from Help the Aged.

The audience was also able to get a sneak preview of the George range which will be hitting Halesowen when ASDA opens its doors in the run up to Christmas.

Says Amanda Hodgetts, centre co-ordinator: “It was fantastic to see all the retailers and models pull together to make this such a brilliant event.

“Everyone gave up their time free of charge and it was great to see the mix of clothing and accessories available in the centre.

“Claire from Help the Aged did a superb job of marshalling the models down the catwalk and giving the shows that professional catwalk sparkle.

“We’d also like to offer special thanks to Halesowen freelance hair stylist, Fiona McBride, who gave up a huge amount of time to make sure the models looked their best on the catwalk. Fiona also gave two ‘hair-up’ demonstrations on stage during the day.”
