Top Notch Hats - Friday, June 13, 2008

Linda Downes and her team at The Pottery Shop have the honour of winning the third Top Notch Contribution Award because of their commitment to the redevelopment of Halesowen.

Linda Downes from 'The Pottery Shop' recieves the TNCA trophy from Amanda.

The gift and accessories store, located on the Queensway, has been actively involved in tenant meetings and the ‘What’s Happening’ newsletter.

However, Linda’s key contribution has been the loan of hats and bags for the recent Cornbow fashion show – which took place on 17 May.

Says Linda: “We are thrilled to receive this award and have it on display in store.

“The redevelopment work in Halesowen, coupled with a general downward shift in customers spending across the country, has led to a few tricky moments.

“But, it has also inspired us with new ways to take The Pottery Shop forward.

“We have recently started offering the sale and buy-back of hats – as seen on the catwalk at the fashion show.”

Amanda Hodgetts, centre administrator at the Cornbow shopping centre, says: “Linda and her team deserve a round of applause for all the positive contributions they have made to the life and community of Halesowen and the Cornbow centre, especially over the last twelve months.

“We welcome all nominations for either an individual or a shop in the Cornbow to receive the next Top Notch Contribution Award. Just fill in one of the ‘help us help you’ forms outside Card Factory.”
